Joseph (Jay) Zwischenberger, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer

Jay serves at the University of Kentucky, Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics, and he is the former Chair of the Department of Surgery. Jay has been involved in continuous research since 1987 with over 60 funded projects focused on severe respiratory failure, lung cancer, and artificial lung development. He holds 5 patents and 4 patents pending. Jay has served on several NIH studies as review and chairman and is extensively published with over 400 peer-reviewed publications. Specifically, Jay has an extensive background in Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and Venovenous Perfusion-Induced Systemic Hyperthermia.


Mitchel K. May JD

Chief Executive Officer

Mitchel has over 30 years of experience in complex financial transactions, investing, and operational management. He has been involved in the formation and management of over 15 successful businesses through his corporate consulting.  Mitchel has assisted his high-net-worth clients with structuring deals and has been the principal investor in several successful ventures. Mitchel was instrumental in start-up businesses in health care and sports publications. Mitchel holds a JD from Fordham University School of Law as well as a Bachelor of Administration from Clark University. Mitchel started his career practicing law in New York City and is an admitted member of the State Courts of New York and The Bar Association of New York as well as the American Bar Association. 

David Wilder

Chief Financial Officer

David Wilder is a financial executive with over 30 years of broad industry experience that has included extensive financial, as well as operational responsibilities. David worked as an Audit Manager at Deloitte & Touche. Since then he has held positions as President/CFO/Controller with a variety of public and privately held companies in varying industries. They included both US and international assignments. David graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Business Administration.


Roger Vertrees, Ph.D.

Chief Science Officer

Roger received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas in Biomedical Sciences, with a concentration in Experimental Oncologic Pathology. A Board-Certified Cardiovascular Perfusionist, Roger has applied this clinical expertise to over 30 years of research in whole-body hyperthermia. With numerous scientific publications, Roger has pioneered the industry of effective whole-body hyperthermia, including its application in pre-clinical animal studies, as well as the only human trials of lung and ovarian cancer patients. Roger is a co-inventor of the CoreHFC™ device.

Jan Winetz, M.D.

Chief Clinical Officer

Jan is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.  Jan graduated from the Cornell University Medical College, residency and served as a Chief Resident at S.U.N.Y. Jan also served a fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center where he won two National Kidney Foundation Fellowships for his research. Jan has multiple peer reviewed publications. A practicing Nephrologist for over 30 years, Jan is instrumental in the Company’s recent Phase 1 Ovarian Hyperthermia trials. Jan is a co-inventor of the CoreHFC™ device.
